Assemble:
Space
What You Need to Move Forward
academy
Lesson 1
Introduction
course objectives
- Define space.
- Identify resources that will best serve me along my path (temporal, social, physical, internal, emotional).
- Identify potential constraints that may stand between me and my goal (temporal, physical, social, internal, emotional).
- Plan when to say “yes” and when to say “no.”
Learning Ojectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to define your own space, shape it, and overcome obstacles that threaten to hold you back whether they are temporal, physical, social, internal, or emotional.
The World’s Best Airport
Perspective is the combination of what we experience, what we believe, and how we approach the world from day to day. Our perspective shapes us and is directly tied to what we do and how well we do it.
Space is balancing the resources we need and having access to them when and where we need them. Nature holds important lessons about accessing and balancing resources.
Lesson 2
Overview
Space Definition
Space is one part of the 16 Elements model. Consider the 16 Elements when identifying resources that we need to move forward on the path to our objectives.
Space in the Assemble Pillar
All the resources that we need to accomplish our objectives will not fall into our lap at exactly the right time. It is important to think in advance about what we will need and be intentional about planning to acquire and assemble those needed resources.
Lesson 3
Utilizing Resources
MacGyver It
Interestingly, sometimes the presence of a constraint stimulates creativity, innovation, and growth. We may discover something that makes all the difference, simply because we do not have all the resources we need whenever we need them.
The key is to identify clearly our current and future limitations so that we can figure out the most effective response.

Anticipate the Barriers
Constraints limit what you can do while highlighting what is most important. Whether at work or at home, constraints force you to choose a course of action. Will you engage, give up, or change the plan? It’s easy to hide behind a constraint and say, “I can’t, because…”; but when you embrace the challenge, constraints can show you a way forward.
Explore your constraints in the activity below.

Lesson 4
Intentional Progress
Intentionality
When the situation we find ourselves in is less than optimal, it is important to be thoughtful about how we use the Space we have.
Sometimes that means saying no to those things that are less than ideal; but sometimes it means pushing through instead of waiting for a more ideal circumstance.
Busy vs Progressing
Busy is not necessarily meaningful! Do not let busyness get in the way of progress.

Resource Allocation
As we shift from a “I need to be busy” to “I need to make progress” mindset, we can more effectively manage our space to get the results we want.
Explore the resources you need in the activity below.

Lesson 5
Conclusion
Moving Forward
Space is all about understanding “what’s holding me back?” and “what do I need to get through?” When we identify current and potential constraints and needed resources, we can continue to move forward.
