Internal Communications

EMAIL TEMPLATES TO MAKE YOUR LIFE JUST A LITTLE EASIER

As you know, how we communicate internally about the things we do can be sensitive, especially when it comes to assessments. Communicating it in just the right way is important for a successful launch.

You’ll know best how to message and position this investment to your team, and we encourage you to follow your intuition on that.

That said, we have provided some default email templates that might be valuable to use, either in whole or in part. At a minimum, they can hopefully seed the process, and help make creating that internal communication just a little bit easier.

Below are a number of templates you can draw from as you embark on this journey of communication!

general invitation to join

This email template can be useful if you want to “ease in” to the membership, giving them time to explore and learn before launching an assessment.

If you plan on waiting a bit for the assessment, either to let them acclimate to their membership or while you prepare in other ways, this template can be useful.

Hello team,

We are excited to announce that we’ve partnered with a company called Life Engineering to provide you access to their online Achievement Academy.

It’s an entire membership subscription designed to help power achievement in your life!

As an organization, we believe in the power of personal development, and want to invest in you by providing access to this valuable resource as a benefit for being part of our team.

Within the next little while, you’ll be getting an email from Life Engineering announcing the creation of your account. It’ll contain a link you can click to set up your password and begin using your subscription.

After looking deeply at Life Engineering and their frameworks, tools, and methodologies, we feel like the content and tools you’ll access with your subscription will be a valuable resource for you individually. Additionally, we feel like collectively it will give our organization a shared language, framework, and understanding for talking about engagement and achievement at work.

We’re excited to have you be part of this and invite you to participate fully in your membership!

Good luck, and have fun,

invitation to join & take the assessment

This email template can be useful if you want to not only roll out their membership subscription, but also want to immediately begin the process of getting assessment data back.

It’s similar to the General Invitation to join, but contains more information about the Engagement Assessment aspect of their membership—and more importantly, how that data will be used.

Hello team,

We are excited to announce that we’ve partnered with a company called Life Engineering to provide you access to their online Achievement Academy and Engagement Tools.

It’s an entire membership subscription designed to help power engagement and achievement in your life, and that will help us as an organization to better optimize your experience at work.

As an organization, we believe in the power of personal development, and want to invest in you by providing access to this valuable resource as a benefit for being part of our team.

We also believe in our responsibility to create a workplace environment where you can thrive, be your best self, and do your best work.

Life Engineering has developed a science-based methodology for identifying what drives engagement—and how to increase engagement to drive performance and achievement.

As part of your subscription, you’ll be able to use these tools to measure your own engagement in the aspects of your life that you care about! You’ll be able to measure engagement in things like key relationships, physical wellness, social wellness, your current goals, or in any other aspect of life that you want to measure!

What’s more, your assessment results will help you know what you can do to improve your engagement and increase your chance of success. Your results will connect you to courses in Life Engineering’s Achievement Academy for a personalized learning experience.

Any assessment information you enter for any of those aspects of life is entirely personal, and won’t be shared with anyone.

When taking that assessment, one of the “contexts” you can take it for will be for “Work.” This information will be shared, but is anonymized. We plan on using this assessment to help us know the best ways we can improve, to create the most engaging and fulfilling work experience possible.

Within the next little while, you’ll be getting an email from Life Engineering announcing the creation of your account. It’ll contain a link you can click to set up your password and begin using your subscription.

We’re excited to get feedback from you that will help us create a great place to work, so once you have your subscription, please make your way over to the assessment and take the assessment for your “Work” context.

After you set up your password, you’ll be taken to the Command Center, which is the central hub of your membership. From there, just go to “Tools,” and then click on the “Engagement Assessment.” Feel free to take the assessment for whatever context of your life you’d like to measure, but please take one for your “Work” context within the next few days.

After looking deeply at Life Engineering, their frameworks, science and methodologies, we feel like the content and tools you’ll access with your subscription will be a valuable resource for you individually. Additionally, we feel like collectively it will give our organization a shared language, framework, and understanding for talking about engagement and achievement at work, and will help us create a more engaging work environment.

We’re excited to have you be part of this and invite you to participate fully in your membership!

Good luck, and have fun,

invitation to take the assessment

If you chose to roll out memberships without pushing the assessment, then this email template can be used if you’re now ready to start getting assessment data in.
It draws on much of the same language as the prior template, with more of an introductory tone to it, as it’s designed to be sent if the membership is still relatively new.

Hello team,

We hope you have been enjoying your Life Engineering membership subscription, and have had time to explore the content and tools inside.

If you did, you probably saw that part of your subscription includes an Engagement Assessment. This science-based diagnostic allows you measure your own level of engagement in the contexts of your life that you really care about (they call these Critical Contexts).

One of the things we loved about how Life Engineering describes Engagement is that over time, it’s the energy we have for the things we do that really leads to success. That energy we have for the things we do drives up the impact of our time and talent and leads to performance. But when our energy fades, so too does the impact of our time and talent, and we don’t perform as well.

The energy we have for the things we do is vital for long term, sustained progress in everything you do, both in your individual life, and at work.

Because of this, we care a great deal about how engaged you feel at work… with the things you do and the people you do them with. And we’d like to get your feedback on your own level of engagement at work, using that Engagement Assessment.

You may have seen that when you take an Engagement Assessment in your membership there are a number of critical contexts you can choose from, and you can create your own. You can take assessments as often as you like for as many contexts as you like.

One of those default contexts is “Work,” measuring how engaged you feel at work. Within the next few days, will you please take an Engagement Assessment for your “Work” context? That assessment report will be anonymized and shared back to us. We don’t know whose it is, so your assessment results are totally private. But collectively, they can give us an idea about how we’re doing, and how you’re doing, and will help us identify areas where we can improve.

You should also know, that only the results of your “Work” context (which are anonymized) are shared with us. All Assessment results of any other context are entirely private and only visible by you.

We want to create a great place to work so great work can take place. And to do that, we need your feedback. We want to know what aspects of your work experience we can improve, so you can be fully engaged.

To take the assessment, just log in, and from Command Center, choose “Tools,” then “Engagement Assessment,” and take it for the context “Work.”

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know.

Otherwise, thank you for your support in this!

invitation To leaders

This email template is designed to be given to the leaders that you have given membership access to.

Leaders have access to additional content and features in their subscription.

One of the key, additional tools they have is the ability to run team reports. This email provides messaging for the implementation of the Engagement Assessment, and provides general instruction on these reports.

Hello team,

As you probably already know, we’ve now partnered with Life Engineering to provide our employees access to their Achievement Academy. It’s an entire subscription designed to help them engage in life and increase their ability to succeed in the areas of life that matter most to them.

We’ve also given you a Leadership Membership, which gives you access to additional leadership development content and tools.

We believe in the power of personal development, and are excited to invest in this membership to provide this benefit to you and our employees.

One of the reasons we chose Life Engineering for this is their unique, science-based approach to measuring engagement. As they describe it, the energy we have for the things we do is the number one driver of success over time. It’s what drives up the impact of time and talent. But when our energy fades, so too does the impact of our time and talent. So measuring and managing energy is important for optimizing our journeys in life.

Part of the membership is an Engagement Assessment—a diagnostic that allows members to measure engagement in the aspects of their life that they care the most about. It will help them know what they can do to increase their engagement, and therefore their probability of success.

When taking this assessment, you’re able to choose a context of your life you’re assessing. You can take the assessment as often as you like, for as many contexts of your life as you’d like, allowing you to track progress over time.

While you can add and customize your Contexts, one of the default contexts is “Work.” These assessment results are shared with the organization. They are anonymized, so we can’t ever see a single individual’s engagement assessment, but taken collectively, they can provide strong insights into what we can do as a leadership team to create a more engaging work experience.

You should also know that any Engagement Assessment taken for any other context is totally private, and only visible to you.

We’ll be inviting all employees to take the Engagement Assessment for their Work context very soon. Once they’ve taken that assessment, those results, anonymized, will be able to be combined in reports visible to those with a Leadership membership, which includes you.

So once your team has all taken their assessments, when you log into your membership, you’ll be taken to the Command Center. It’s the central hub for your membership. If you scroll down, you’ll see a section just for leaders, and a module there for “Team Reports.” When you go to that page, you’ll be able to select your team members and create a report. This will allow you to see the aggregate engagement results for your team.

We feel strongly about our responsibility to create the most engaging work experience possible, and recognize how important this is to each of our team’s long-term success and performance.

When you get your results for your team, please be thoughtful about what you can do to help improve the overall engagement of your team.

If you have any questions, please reach out and let me know!

we're only successful if you are

Internal communications can be tricky, and highly nuanced. We want to make your job as easy as possible, so are anxious to help you create these, especially if they can be used by other teams.

If you find that you’re getting a lot of questions that could be answered generally with a company/team email, we’d love to know. We might be able to provide a template for that.

Or if you find that you’re getting questions and would like help knowing how to message and position a response, we’d love to help with that as well.

In the fields below, please let us know about your experience, any ideas you have for new templates we could provide, or any feedback that might help us help you!
