I grew up with poverty, homelessness, and abuse. We had little or no food, running water, heat, or friends. I was finally abandoned. But I discovered that people can be strong. That they can overcome. That they can escape their past. That sometimes they just need to be given a chance or a little help. It’s taken me 39 years to write it, but this is my story.
