  Emotional Distancing

  Emotional Distancing is when we create some emotional separation from an Orbit where we were once experiencing Peak Engagement.

  During Emotional Distancing we allow ourselves some breathing room. We allow for the Element of Renewal. We allow ourselves to pull back so that we can Invest in the other Orbits in our lives.

  In a healthy orbit, Emotional Distancing is part of a heathy, ongoing cycle, allowing us to renew so we can re-invest. In an unhealthy orbit, Emotional Distancing can be the very thing we need to restore perspective and get us to look outward, toward somewhere new.
