As leaders, we have a need to be highly sensitive to the level of engagement of those we lead. The number one driver of performance over time is the energy we invest in the things we do. Way more than time or talent, energy matters most.
Unfortunately, much of the time we are wholly unaware of the emotional state of our team. An understanding of the Orbits of Engagement, and the behavioral signals people send as they traverse these stages can help us be more aware, more understanding, and more intentional about how we lead.
